Islam versus Christianity

Muslims accept Jesus as a prophet. But the biblical view of Jesus reveals he much more than just a prophet. The biblical view of Jesus requires us (humans) to believe that the Creator of the universe became a human being in the historic person of Jesus Christ. The evidence supporting the Christian viewpoint is found on this web site as evidenced in archaeological discoveries, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and fulfilled prophecy.

It is very important to ask Muslims, "How do you KNOW that Muhammad received spiritual truth from the Creator?"

I have not yet witnessed a credible answer to this question from even one Muslim. In contrast, the Christian view is solid based on the ability of the biblical prophets to foretell the future accurately and consistently.

For example, the evidence of history shows that the Archangel Gabriel foretold of the Messiah who would be killed as a sacrificial offering. And the Messiah had to appear and be killed as a sacrificial offering before the destruction of the temple and Jerusalem that occurred in 70 CE. To Christians, there is an answer to the question:

"How do you KNOW that the biblical Jesus (as opposed to the Muslim view of Jesus) is spiritual truth?"

Consider the following sequence (three bullet points) of evidence and logic that support the Christian viewpoint:

  • The Dead Sea Scrolls contained 8 copies of the book of Daniel. The University of Arizona carbon dating laboratory as well as the carbon dating lab in Zurich, Switzerland have both verified that the earliest copy of Daniel was copied about 125 BCE. Click Here to verify this factual evidence.
  • If a so-called prophet can consistently and accurately foretell the future, then that is the prophet we should base our spiritual well being upon. Daniel's prophecy as given by the Archangel Gabriel supports that spiritual truth was revealed to Daniel the prophet. The evidence supporting this viewpoint can be reviewed by each of the following links.

We have six prophecies that were fulfilled 195 to 235 years after the original date of 165 BCE (well after the time the author died). Since we have six credible data points, we can use math to come to unbiased conclusions (using a statistical tool called the Chi-square test for Independence). Click here to review the analysis, which shows that we can have confidence in Jesus as being spiritual truth.

  • Since Daniel foretold the future, the Christian faith is based on solid evidence. Christians have the evidence to make them confident in the biblical Jesus as spiritual truth.

  • In contrast, Muhammad could not foretell the future. Since Muhammad could not foretell the future, he does not appear to have received his information from the same Archangel Gabriel that revealed spiritual truth to Daniel. In fact, Gabriel's words given to Daniel are directly contradicted by Gabriel's words given to Muhammad. This contradiction reveals the most central problem with the Islamic worldview and requires us to ask a very important question as follows:

"How do you KNOW that Islam is FALSE?"

Logic and ancient artifacts answer this important question.

Muhammad claimed that Jesus did not die on the cross as revealed by the Archangel Gabriel. In contrast to Muhammad's claim, the prophet Daniel received words from the Archangel Gabriel that the Messiah would die as a sacrificial offering. These independent claims are a direct contradiction. Is there evidence to support whether Muhammad or Daniel was correct? Consider the evidence against this claim made by Muhammad in the Qur'an:

Why would intellectually honest people to have "blind faith" in the opinions of a person named Muhammad, who lived about 600 years after the crucifixion event? Even worse, a human being that claimed to be a prophet yet could not foretell the future?

In contrast with Muhammad's opinion, we have archaeological evidence that verifies four New Testament characters existed that looked into Jesus' eyes on the day of crucifixion. And James, the brother of Jesus was a skeptic that did not believe in Jesus on the day of the crucifixion. Why did James change his mind about Jesus?

In reality, the Qur'an does not offer evidence that Muhammad heard from the Creator of the universe. Dear Muslim friend, "Why place your trust (blind faith) in a false prophet by the name of Muhammad?
