Words Beyond Time-Space?
Jesus' Words in the New Testament
Event No. 5

Foretold Event: Jerusalem’s technological environment foretold (worldwide transportation/shipping to all nations).

When Foretold: 100 CE

When Fulfilled: 1989

Time passed from prophecy to fulfillment: 1,889 Years

Can We Confirm it?: Yes

Jesus' words to the Apostle John reveal more details about the tech-type world in which two prophets will appear. The book of Revelation foretells of the ability to ship materials worldwide in a very short time (3 ˝ days) as follows:

"For three and a half days . . . The inhabitants [Individuals] of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts [Individual shipping worldwide in short order], because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth" (Revelation 11:9-10a).

When these words were penned at the end of the 1st century, shipping required that you take the item yourself or send it with other trusted people. It took months to send items across a short distance. Today, I can get on the Internet, order flowers (or other items) halfway around the world to be delivered by tomorrow. Worldwide shipping in less than 3 ˝ days requires 21st century technology in the form of commercial jet aircraft as well as computers to track shipments. Shipping items worldwide in short order was completely beyond the imagination of the ancients. But the book of Revelation foretells of a future where people on earth could send gifts to one another very quickly. The impossible (1st century) has become commonplace (21st century).

Is the source of such a vision from "outside" time-space? The author of these words claims to be Jesus the Messiah, who says, "I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore" (Revelation 1:18).

Could the Apostle John have reasoned such a prophecy since it was beyond his environment?

Does this foretold event meet the seven Einstein Method Guidelines? On the left side of the web page, all items read "YES". Place your mouse over the item to view the graphic window in the upper left corner or click to learn more with a quick pop-up file.

Supporting Evidence

  • You are reading this on the Internet and can communicate worldwide.
  • Everyday, people order and send items worldwide quickly.
  • The technological environment described in Revelation 11:8-10 describes an environment that would have been completely foreign to the Apostle John.
  • I have calculated the probability that the Apostle John could have foreseen the technological environment of the 21st century. The calculation is based on satellite technology and launch vehicle (missile) technology. I would consider the calculation to be extremely conservative at 10-58.
