Words Beyond Time-Space?
Jesus' Words in the New Testament
Event No. 4

Foretold Event: Jerusalemís technological environment foretold (Individuals communicate worldwide).

When Foretold: 100 CE

When Fulfilled: 1989

Time passed from prophecy to fulfillment: 1,889 Years

Can We Confirm it?: Yes

Jesus' words to the Apostle John reveal more details about the tech-type world in which two prophets will appear. The book of Revelation foretells that people will be able to communicate to each other worldwide in a very short time. Consider that the book of Revelation foretells of a time when people around the world will send one another gifts in the short time span of 3 Ĺ days as follows:

"For three and a half days . . . The inhabitants [Individuals] of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts [Individual worldwide communication], because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth" (Revelation 11:9-10a).

When these words were penned at the end of the 1st century, mail service for individuals did not exist. E-mail services began in 1989 in the United States. Since the Internet began, its usage has spread worldwide. The Internet was completely beyond the imagination of the ancients. But the book of Revelation foretells of a future where people on earth could send messages to one another. The impossible (1st century) has become commonplace (21st century).

Is the source of such a vision from "outside" time-space? The author of these words claims to be Jesus the Messiah, who says, "I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore" (Revelation 1:18).

Could the Apostle John have reasoned such a prophecy since it was beyond his environment?

Supporting Evidence

  • You are reading this on the Internet and can communicate worldwide.
  • The technological environment described in Revelation 11:8-10 describes an environment that would have been completely foreign to the Apostle John.
  • I have calculated the probability that the Apostle John could have foreseen the technological environment of the 21st century. The calculation is based on satellite technology and launch vehicle (missile) technology. I would consider the calculation to be extremely conservative at 10-58.
